10 Run Second Propels Cupertino to 11-1 Win Over Oak Grove

The Cupertino Pioneers defeated the Oak Grove Eagles by score of 11-1 Saturday in a non-league game at Cupertino.

Oak Grove opened the game with a single, a sacrifice bunt, a couple of walks, then a sacrifice fly to take the lead 1-0 in the top of the first. That’s the way it remained until the bottom of the second when Cupertino had one those seeming, endless innings, sending sixteen batters to the plate, and scoring 10 runs on 8 hits to take a 10-1 lead. The Pioneers added another run in the bottom of the third to increase the score to 11-1, where it remained for the rest of the game.

Josh Longabaugh started and went 5, striking out 5, for the win, Liam Ramirez closed.

With the win, Cupertino improves to 4-8, 11-12.
