Cupertino 9 Evergreen Valley 7

The Cupertino Pioneers defeated the Evergreen Valley Cougars by a score of 9-7 Friday afternoon at Cupertino.

The Pioneers took an early lead, but had to come from behind after the Cougars mounted a 7 run rally in the third.

Four Pioneers had two hit days, led by Ben Champion and Ben Townsend, who each had a single and double. Josh Longabaugh and Kyle Avvakumovits each had a pair of singles.

Ben Townsend picked up the win in relief, his second of the season.

With the win, Cupertino improves to 7-5, 2-2.
