Varsity Squeezes Past Monta Vista

The Cupertino High School Pioneers varsity baseball team defeated the Monta Vista Matadors by a score of 2-0 in an El Camino Division contest Tuesday afternoon at Monta Vista. With the win Cupertino improves to 3-8, 2-3.

Scoreless through five, Cupertino picked up two in the top of the sixth. Jacob Alexander got the Pioneers on the board with a sacrifice fly to deep left.

Kyle Avvakumovits picked up the win, his second against one loss, in relief.

The two teams face each other next on Thursday afternoon at 4:00pm at Cupertino.
