The Cupertino High School Pioneers varsity baseball team fell 9-1 to the Pinole Valley High School Spartans in an inter-sectional game Saturday afternoon at Cupertino.

Josh Longabaugh had the Pioneers' sole RBI of the afternoon on a fielder's choice and later singled for Cupertino's second hit of the afternoon. Anthony Pozzetti had a double and scored a run, and three others managed bases on balls.

Cupertino falls to 6-10, 4-4 while Pinole Valley improves to 12-6-1, 6-1.

Next up for the Pioneers is Fremont at home on Tuesday at 4:00pm.
