Eagles Over Pioneers 10-6

In a SCVAL inter-divisional varsity baseball game at Los Altos on Saturday afternoon, the Los Altos High School Eagles defeated the Cupertino High School Pioneers 10-6.

Los Altos scored 2 in bottom of the first and 2 in the bottom of the second to lead 4-0 after two. Cupertino got on the board in the top of the third as Josh Longabaugh singled to drive in 2, to make the score 4-2. The Eagles made it 6-2 in the bottom of the fourth. In the top of the fifth, Morgan Saenz hit a base-clearing triple to the center field fence, to make it 6-5, and then made it 6-6 when he scored a moment later on a passed ball. That was it for the Pioneers’ scoring though, while Los Altos added 2 in the bottom of the fifth, and 2 more in the bottom of the sixth, for the final 10-6 score.

With the win, the Eagles improve to 11-12, 4-7 keeping alive their hopes for an at-large bid into the postseason as they head into their final 3 games. Cupertino goes to 7-12, 5-5.
