Morgan Saenz went deep for the third time this season as Cupertino High School beat Santa Clara 6-1 Saturday afternoon at Cupertino. Saenz earlier had an RBI single. The homer was the first by a Cupertino player on the new field since its opening in 2011.

Eight players combined for eleven hits in Saturday afternoon's win. Jacob Alexander had a double, single and one RBI. Kyle Avvakumovits had two singles. Adam Apolinar and Josh Longabaugh had a single and RBI apiece. Stan Sumibcay, Tony Uribe and Daniel Kono each had singles.

Matt Kuhl went hitless, bringing to an end an eight game hitting streak that began back on March 19 with a two triple, four RBI day against Lynbrook.

Michael Hyun started and went five innings for Cupertino, picking up the win. Morgan Saenz and Matt Kuhl each pitched an inning of relief.
