The Space Shuttle Endeavour flew over Cupertino High School at 10:40am on Friday, September 21, 2012. Endeavour was attached to Shuttle Carrier Aircraft N905NA, a former American Airlines 747-100. The final shuttle built, Endeavour was enroute from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida to Los Angeles where it will be placed on display at the California Science Center. Endeavour passed over Tino following its overflight of Moffett Federal Airfield in a salute to NASA’s Ames Research Center. Assistant Coach Joseph Longabaugh, in Santa Cruz with his son, 2012 baseball alum Cameron Longabaugh, reported that area was treated to a spectacular view when the aircraft arrived overhead and banked steeply as it altered course to head down the coast to Monterey.
