Baseball Alumni Milestones 2019
August 1, 2019 On Saturday, January 26, Icko Iben (2018) made his college debut for De Anza College, recording 3 strikeouts, 1 walk and no hits in two and a third innings of relief. On February 15, Josh Longabaugh (2016) made his first Division I appearance for Longwood University. In two and a third innings of relief against the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Longabaugh recorded 3 strikeouts, 3 hits, 1 walk and no runs. He becomes the first Pioneer to appear in Division I since Matt McCormick (2006) appeared for St Mary's College in 2007. On March 16, Josh Longabaugh (2016) picked up his first win of the season in relief for Longwood University in a game at Gardner-Webb University. In doing so, Longabaugh became the first Pioneer in a dozen years to pick up a win at the D-I level, the last being Matt McCormick (2006) in 2007 for St Mary's College. |
2019 Season Results
2019 July 1, 2019 The Pioneers went 1-13 in lDe Anza league play during the regular season. Taking 2 of 3 from Saratoga in the postseason relegation series, the team will remain in the league in 2020. The team finished 2020 with an overall 11-17 record.

2019 Pitch Count Rules
Sept 19, 2018 Beginning with the 2017 season, high school pitchers in the United States were restricted by a daily pitch count. In
California, the CIF adopted pitch count limits based upon team level,
with a daily limit of 110 pitches for varsity players, and 90 pitches
for all others, along with up to 3 days rest. Additionally, the
previous rule, limiting a pitcher to 30 outs and 3 appearances per
calendar week, remains in effect. |

the official reference for the rules of the high school game, the book
is helpful for understanding how those rules differ from others such as
those of Little League and MLB. The

2019 League Schedule Released

The 2019 SCVAL De Anza Division baseball schedule has been released.
In 2019 the Pioneers will open league play on Wednesday March 6, at 3:30 pm when they host the Palo Alto Vikings. Games will be played on Wednesdays and Fridays, with Frosh/Soph games being played opposite the Varsity games. Playoffs and the relegation series follow the regular season.
The Pioneers' fourteen game schedule features two games each against the Homestead Mustangs, Los Altos Eagles, Los Gatos Wildcats, Mountain View Spartans, Palo Alto Vikings, Saratoga Falcons and Wilcox Chargers.

Cupertino High School 60th Anniversary Celebration
July 31, 2018 On Saturday September 15, 2018 from 9:30am to 4:30pm Cupertino High School will celebrate its 60th anniversary. The event will feature a special introductory assembly, CHS Band field show, themed campus tours, Vietnam Memorial Re-dedication, and a talk and book signing for CHS@60: The History of Cupertino High School. |
