Cupertino travelled to Wilcox on Wednesday, received a combined one-hit performance from their pitchers and scored the game’s only earned run, but managed to give up three unearned runs and earn a 3-1 loss.

It’s simple: Wilcox makes you pay for your mistakes.

Ander Hersh and Liam Ramirez combined on a one-hitter for Cupertino. Hersh, who had the Pioneers only hit of the day, a leadoff double in the third, and who later scored their only run of the day, was rewarded for his efforts with the loss.

Jasper Henry went the distance for Wilcox, generally baffling Cupertino hitters, also allowing only one hit, and recording his fourth win of the season.

With the loss, Cupertino falls to  4-9, 11-13.
