It was a long night for the Pioneers at Homestead on Friday as the Mustangs dominated Cupertino in every phase of the game in a 42-0 blowout

Celebrating homecoming both on and off the field, Homestead scored early and often, starting off with a 52 yard run by Rajah Ward in the first period. In the second quarter, Ward scored again, this  time on an 83 yard run. Late in the 2nd, it was QB Jerome Holloway passing to Ryan Allemandi for a 20 yard TD pass. The second half proved no different, with Kylend Howard scoring on a 6 yard run. Jerome Holloway got into the TD act on his own in the 4th Quarter with an 84-yard TD run. Later in the final quarter, Sebastian Knoefel capped off the scoring with a 50 yard TD run. Also of note, kicker John Rak was perfect on all six of his extra points.

Cupertino’s few bright spots of the evening included Edison Hernandez’s  72 yards rushing. Morgan Saenz’s two catches for 56 yards, and Kyle Avvakumovits  with the game’s only turnover with an interception in the end zone stopping a Homestead drive.

Next up, homecoming, with Cupertino hosting the Gunn Titans on Friday, October 17.
