Santa Clara Homestead Wins Section 5 Intermediate Division Championship

Congratulations to Santa Clara Homestead on winning the 2014 Little League Intermediate 50-70 California Section 5 Championship on Wednesday, July 2 at Pomeroy Field in Santa Clara. 

The team will now travel to Chowchilla, represent District 44 in the Northern California Division 2 Tournament where they will face host Chowchilla at 8:00pm on Saturday, July 5.. 

Eight teams will particiapte in the Northern California Division 2 tournament: Chico Central (D-47), Chowchilla (District 10), El Dorado Hills (D-54), Mariposa County (D-73), Mark West (D-35), San Ramon Valley/Tassajara Valley (D-57), Santa Clara Homestead (D-44) and Wasco (D-10). 

For Little League tournament purposes, California is divided into two states, Northern California (Division 2) and Southern California (Division 1).

Homestead has several ties to Tino, being coached by one of our dads, Dean Rodriguez, and featuring Joel and Jacob Banholzer’s younger brother Jordan, and Dean Rodriguez’s younger brother Tony.
