Monta Vista and Nordby Down Cupertino 4-1

A sleepy Cupertino High School varsity squad, and an opposing pitcher having a career day on the mound, was a bad combination for the Pioneers as they managed only 1 run on 4 hits, while giving up 3 unearned runs in a 4-1 loss to Monta Vista on Tuesday afternoon at Cupertino. 

Michael Hyun had 2 singles, Anthony Pozzetti had a single and an RBI and Josh Longabaugh had a single. 

Kevin Nordby went the distance for Monta Vista, giving up 1 run on 4 hits and striking out 6 for his fifth win. Josh Longabaugh started for Cupertino and collected the loss, giving up 1 earned run in 5 innings.  

With the loss Cupertino falls to 11-14, 7-7.  Monta Vista improves to 10-15, 7-7.

Cupertino wins the 2014 series 2-1.

Monta Vista: Shiron Drusinsky 2B, 1B (2), RBI, Ian Young 1B (2). Matt Woodard 1B, Danny McGarry 1B, Rami Dwidar 1B.
