2014 Season Schedules

The Cupertino Pioneers are scheduled to play 53 games in 2014, with 32 at home and 21 on the road. The season will include 13 Saturday games, 11 of which will be at home and will include 4 doubleheaders. 

El Camino Division opponents in 2014 will include the Fremont Firebirds, Lynbrook Vikings, Milpitas Trojans, Monta Vista Matadors and Santa Clara Bruins. Santa Clara joins the El Camino in 2014, taking the place of Los Gatos who moved up to the De Anza. Other games will feature Berkeley, Capuchino, Carlmont, Harbor, Harker, Los Altos, Miramonte, Pinole Valley, Half Moon Bay, Sacred Heart Cathedral, Sequoia, Wilcox and a special visit by Honolulu’s Kalani High School as part of their Northern California road trip. 

Weekend games will include home doubleheaders against Miramonte, Sacred Heart Cathedral, Berkeley and Pinole Valley. Additionally, the Varisty will host Harker, and play on the road at Harbor and Los Altos. The Frosh/Soph will host games against Harbor and Los Altos.

The Varsity will play 27 games against 17 opponents, 16 at home and 11 on the road, including 7 Saturday games, 5 of those at home. The Varsity opens on the road at Capuchino on Thursday, February 27, and then opens at home a week later on Thursday, March 6 against Sequoia.  League play begins on Tuesday, March 11 on the road at Milpitas. Two road games against Santa Clara will be held under the lights at Washington Park. The final game of the season will be at home on Thursday, May 15 against Fremont, and will be proceeded by the 2014 Senior Day ceremony.

Eight of the Varsity’s 2014 opponents participated in the 2013 postseason. Carlmont, Fremont, Half Moon Bay, Los Altos, Monta Vista and Sequoia all competed in the Central Coast Section  tournament, while Berkeley and Pinole Valley both competed in the North Coast Section tournament.

The Frosh/Soph will play 26 games against 16 opponents, 16 at home and 10 on the road games including 6 Saturday home games. The Frosh/Soph opens the season at home against Capuchino on Thursday, February 27, and then begins league play at home on Tuesday, March 11 against Milpitas.  The final game of the season will be on the road at Fremont on Thursday, May 15.

The 2014 season will also feature revised weekday starting times. After Daylight Saving Time begins on March 9, all Monday through Friday afternoon games will be begin one-half-hour later at 4:00pm, instead of 3:30pm. The change will it easier for fans to attend games, and will allow the players to miss less class time.
