Varsity Shut Out at Fremont

Matt Kuhl had a three hit day with two singles and a double, Tony Uribe had a pair of singles, and Alan Vigent and Youseph Pavolic had a single each, but the Varsity was unable to bring anyone across the plate as Cupertino was blanked Fremont 10-0 at Fremont on Thursday afternoon.

Fremont started a southpaw who went six and the Pioneers never quite had an answer for him.

The circumstances of the afternoon provided the opportunity for freshman Josh Longabaugh to make his varsity pitching debut, going 2 1/3 and giving up no runs on a hit and a walk.
