Varsity Records 10-3 Win Against Lynbrook

The Cupertino High School varsity baseball team defeated Lynbrook 10-3 Tuesday afternoon in a SCVAL El Camino Division game at Cupertino.  The Pioneers struck first scoring one run in the bottom of the first, but the Vikings came back and tied the game in the top of the second.  Cupertino took the lead for good with a five run third.

Youseph Pavolic picked up a much-deserved win as Cupertino defeated Lynbrook The win is Youseph’s second of the year, having previously won in a relief appearance.  Matt Kuhl came on to close.

Matt Kuhl had 2 triples and 4 RBIs, Stan Sumibcay had 2 doubles and 3 RBIs and Tony Uribe had 2 singles and 3 RBIs. Kyle Avvakumovits had two singles, and Youseph Pavolic one.

Josh Longabaugh joined the team from the Frosh/Soph and made his varsity debut as a pinch runner in the sixth and remained in the game as a sub at third base in the seventh.

The Frosh/Soph won 11-6 at Lynbrook.
